Congratulations to Brooke Taylor and her bitch Neigepearl Vital Obsession for winning the Best of Breed and Sovereign Park Diamond for coming Runner Up Best of Breed at the recent White German Shepherd Dog Alliance of Victoria 2008 National Show. Congratulations to our friend Rachel (Schatzfunde White German Shepherds) and her dog Schatzi for winning the inaugural Esteemed Working Dog Award. Our dogs results can be found on their individual pages. Thanks to Brooke Taylor for running the show! We received Freyja’s Pennhip results from the USA. DI Left – 0.32 Di Right – 0.32 We’re very happy with the results. Freyja will now enter our breeding program when she is over the age of 18 months, we do not anticipate her having her first litter until she is at least 2 years old. A mate for her first litter has already been selected and will be announced once any pregnancy has been confirmed. Freyja will still be temperament tested in the coming months but we do not envisage this being an issue as she has a lovely temperament. For more information on Pennhip and what these results actually mean, please see the following website – http://www.pennhip.org/ Well we have Freyja’s Hip and Elbow scores. And while they might be the scores we expected to get, we are resigned to accept what we got. To those not familiar, for elbow scores are out of 0 to 3. 0 is no fault. The WSSDCA will accept a 3 (Serious fault) and UAP: 1 (with a minor fault on the other). For hips: Scores between 0 and 6 are allocated for all criteria, except the caudal acetabular edge, for which the maximum score is 5. For a maximum of 106. The WSSDCA cut off for breeding is 35. So here is the scores. Our girl Freyja turned 1 year old on the 2nd of August. She has turned in to a lovely big dog with a fantastic temperament. Freyja was hip and elbow scored yesterday and we are now waiting for the results from both the AVA and Pennhip. Ray at Monash did the x-rays and has advised that her joints look very good so we expect favourable results. If her scores turn out within our personal breeding cut off, Freyja will be temperament tested and join our breeding program. Freyja will not be mated until mid to late 2009, the stud dog being used in the mating will be made public at this time.
